Tom Pearce

Chief Executive Officer

Tom Pearce is Co-Founder and CEO of Rothesay. Tom founded Rothesay with Addy Loudiadis in 2007 and was previously its Managing Director. Tom has overall responsibility for Rothesay’s strategy and operational delivery, including Business Development, Financing, Investment Origination and Operations. Tom has been a Board Director of Rothesay since 2016 and he also sits on the Board of the Association of British Insurers.

Prior to founding Rothesay, Tom was part of the Fixed Income and Investment Banking team at Goldman Sachs with responsibility for pension fund and insurance company clients. 

Tom has an economics degree from Cambridge University and lives in London with his wife and two children. 

Graham Butcher

Chief Financial Officer

Graham Butcher is Rothesay's Chief Financial Officer, responsible for all divisions of Rothesay’s finance function, including financial reporting, capital management, product control and actuarial assurance. As Chief Financial Officer, Graham also oversees corporate strategy and new business underwriting. Graham joined Rothesay in 2007 and was previously the company’s Head of Strategy and Chief Underwriting Officer, where he led all strategic initiatives, business planning and the pricing, underwriting and risk management of new business. Prior to joining Rothesay, Graham was at Willis Towers Watson where he qualified as Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 2006.

Pamela Bentley

Chief Underwriting Officer

Pamela Bentley is Rothesay’s Chief Underwriting Officer, responsible for all underwriting and new business pricing activity including chairing the Underwriting and Liabilities Committee. Pamela joined Rothesay in 2009 and has been directly involved in most of Rothesay’s liability transactions to date. Prior to joining Rothesay, Pamela was at Willis Towers Watson in London and San Francisco. Pamela is a pensions actuary and a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Prateek Sharma

Chief Investment Officer

Prateek Sharma is Chief Investment Officer and Head of Rothesay Asset Management. Prateek joined Rothesay in 2013 and is responsible for the company’s investment portfolio. Prior to joining Rothesay, Prateek worked in principal finance and structured finance trading at Morgan Stanley and UBS. 

Baptiste Grassion

Head of Asset and Liability Management

Baptiste Grassion is Head of Asset and Liability Management, responsible for Capital Management, Treasury, Trading and Quantitative Strategists. Baptiste joined Rothesay in 2007 and was previously the company’s Head of Quantitative Strategists. Prior to joining Rothesay, Baptiste was a senior quantitative strategist at Goldman Sachs.

Peter Shepherd

Chief Risk Officer

Peter Shepherd is Rothesay's Chief Risk officer. He joined Rothesay in 2016 and is responsible for the Group’s risk function. Prior to joining Rothesay, Peter held a number of senior roles at Lloyds Banking Group including leading the structured credit investments portfolio and establishing and leading the business responsible for the management and disposition of specialist non-core assets within the Group. He was also a director, and member of the investment and funding committee, of the Group's defined benefit pensions schemes.

Lorna Tennent

General Counsel

Lorna Tennent is Rothesay's General Counsel. She joined Rothesay in 2023 and is responsible for the legal and compliance functions and the execution team. Prior to joining Rothesay, Lorna was a Partner in Linklaters’ corporate/M&A practice and co-head of its global insurance group.

David Cox

Chief Operating Officer

David Cox is Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for all of Rothesay’s asset and liability operations. David joined Rothesay in 2008, initially working in the Pricing & Reinsurance team, of which he was Co-Head until 2022. In 2022, David was appointed Deputy Chief Operating Officer and, in 2023, Chief Operating Officer. David is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and has over 20 years’ experience in pensions, having worked for Mercer and Watson Wyatt prior to joining Rothesay.

Stephen Pain

Chief Technology Officer

Stephen Pain is Rothesay's Chief Technology Officer. He joined Rothesay in 2018 and is responsible for quantitative development, technology and systems. Prior to joining Rothesay, Stephen worked at Citadel for 12 years where he was Global Head of Quantitative Development for the Global Fixed Income business.

Sammy Cooper-Smith

Head of Business Development

Sammy Cooper-Smith is Head of Business Development. Sammy joined Rothesay in 2011 and is responsible for new business origination and marketing to defined benefit pension schemes and insurance companies. At Rothesay, Sammy has played a lead role in transactions with the pension funds of National Grid, telent, Asda and Allied Domecq among others as well as the reinsurance of the Prudential, Zurich Assurance and Aegon annuity portfolios. Prior to joining Rothesay, Sammy was at Paternoster which Rothesay acquired in 2011. He started his career at Prudential. 

Fahim Rashid

Head of Strategy

Fahim Rashid is Head of Strategy. Fahim joined Rothesay in 2009 and is responsible for M&A, capital raising, shareholder matters and strategic projects. At Rothesay, Fahim has played a lead role in all capital markets activity. Prior to joining Rothesay, Fahim was an Executive Director within the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs focusing on the insurance sector. 

Richard Spooner

Head of Trading and Risk Management

Richard Spooner is Head of Trading and Risk Management. He is responsible for Rothesay’s trading activity and macro risk management alongside the shared oversight of its portfolio of liquid assets. Richard joined Rothesay as a graduate in 2010.

Toby Chapman

Head of Credit Portfolio Management

Toby Chapman is Head of Credit Portfolio Management. He is responsible for Rothesay’s diversified portfolio of corporate credit, including its trading activity and risk management. Before joining Rothesay, Toby was a Managing Director and Head of Financial Credit Trading at Goldman Sachs.

Harish Haridas

Head of Commercial Real Estate

Harish is Rothesay’s Head of Commercial Real Estate (CRE). He is responsible for the origination and underwriting of our CRE investments in the UK and across our international markets. Prior to joining Rothesay in 2016, Harish worked in the securitisation and restructuring groups at Morgan Stanley and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Kit Hamilton

Co-Head of Origination and Underwriting

Kit Hamilton is Rothesay’s Co-Head of Origination and Underwriting. Prior to joining Rothesay, Kit was a member of the Investment Committee and head of the Private Credit division at Macquarie Asset Management where he had overall responsibility for origination, execution and portfolio management and held positions on Macquarie Group’s European Management Committee. He previously spent seven years at Dresdner Kleinwort in corporate and acquisition finance and loan syndications in Europe.

Matt Kennedy

Head of Rothesay Asset Management Australia

Matt Kennedy is Head of Rothesay Asset Management Australia and responsible for establishing and building our presence in Australia and the broader Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Rothesay, Matt led Asia Pacific financing and solutions businesses for Deustche Bank AG.

Nim Sivakumaran

Co-Head of Origination and Underwriting

Nim Sivakumaran is Rothesay’s Co-Head of Origination and Underwriting. Prior to joining Rothesay, Nim ran the European securitisation trading team at Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for origination and execution of all the major Structured Finance trades. He also previously worked at Sculptor Capital Management where he ran the European Securitised Products team leading investments in ABS, RMBS, CLOs and CMBS products. Nim started his career at Citigroup as a structurer.

Oliver Dixon

Chief Capital Officer

Oliver Dixon is Rothesay’s Chief Capital Officer. Oliver is responsible for Rothesay’s solvency calculations, monitoring & forecasting, capital management projects, calculation of MCEV and actuarial reporting. Oliver has been with Rothesay for ten years. Prior to joining, Oliver worked for Willis Towers Watson as a consultant in its life insurance practice.

Kate Ireland

Chief Auditor

Kate Ireland is Rothesay's Chief Auditor, leading the internal audit function which provides independent, objective assurance and consulting activities designed to add value and improve Rothesay’s operations. Prior to joining Rothesay in 2024, Kate was Chief Auditor at both Yorkshire Building Society and Vanguard Asset Management where she also held senior roles in Finance and Governance.

Caroline Dunne

Chief People Officer

Caroline Dunne is Rothesay's Chief People Officer. Caroline is an experienced HR professional and qualified employment lawyer. Caroline is responsible for developing and implementing Rothesay’s People strategy, Talent Acquisition, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Reward, and overall developing the best in our people. Prior to joining Rothesay, Caroline was a Managing Director in Human Capital Management at Goldman Sachs.

Jason Wright

Chief Implementation Officer

Jason Wright is Rothesay's Chief Implementation Officer. He joined Rothesay in 2018 and is responsible for the implementation of the firm’s strategic projects and overall project portfolio. Prior to joining Rothesay, Jason was Group Change Director of Just Group, COO of Paternoster and managed new product development at Prudential.

David Land

Head of Investment Strategy

David Land is Rothesay's Head of Investment Strategy. Previously, David was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs and worked as a trader in Interest Rate Products and Credit Derivatives since 1993. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, David was a programmer at the IBM UK Scientific Centre.

Anthony Marlowe

Head of Communications & Public Affairs

Anthony Marlowe is Head of Communications & Public Affairs. He is responsible for Rothesay’s internal and external communications, promoting and safeguarding its brand and for its engagement with stakeholders across Westminster and Whitehall. Anthony previously led the UK Corporate Affairs practice at Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading communications agencies.
