Frequently asked questions
Can you provide me with information about my equity release mortgage?
We do not directly manage or administer equity release mortgages. Please contact your mortgage provider for further information about your mortgage.
LT Mortgage Financing Limited hold a restriction or charge on a property. How will this be lifted?
You may see a restriction in favour of LT Mortgage Financing Limited on the HM Land Registry Register of Title, this pertains to a lifetime mortgage between the customer, as detailed as proprietor in section A, and the mortgage lender, as detailed as the Registered Charge Holder in section C.
Upon full redemption of the mortgage the Registered Charge Holder will arrange, on our behalf, for the restriction in favour of LT Mortgage Financing Limited to be lifted at the Land Registry. Additional written confirmation from LT Mortgage Financing Limited should not be a requirement for HM Land Registry.
How do I obtain confirmation on the outstanding loan balance for an equity release mortgage?
The mortgage lender is detailed as the Registered Charge Holder in section C on the HM Land Registry Register of Title. Please contact the mortgage lender for a copy of the redemption statement.

Proposed transfer from Scottish Widows to Rothesay
On 13 March 2024, Rothesay announced that it had agreed to acquire the bulk purchase annuities part of the long-term insurance business of Scottish Widows. The proposed transfer is subject to approval by the High Court.
The legal process which is intended to result in the transfer has begun.
