East End Community Foundation
The Rothesay Foundation has partnered with the East End Community Foundation (EECF), a grantmaker and philanthropy advisor dedicated to improving lives in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and the City of London.
In 2023 the Rothesay Foundation made a grant of £150,000 over three years to support EECF’s Life Chances campaign, which seeks to address the high levels of financial insecurity amongst older people in the East End of London. The programme provides training, support and funding for frontline community groups to implement advice projects promoting the uptake of unclaimed benefits such as pension credit.
The Rothesay Foundation also donated £50,000 towards EECF’s 2024 Winter Appeal. This funding enabled EECF to deliver 1000 essential winter care packages to isolated older people who often spend the Christmas period alone.
