Benefits Boost campaign
The Rothesay Foundation has partnered with Iceland Foods to launch Benefits Boost, an initiative to help older customers check and claim financial support they may be entitled to but could be missing out on - with the potential to unlock over £37 million in additional annual income.
The campaign is funded by a £1.8 million commitment from the Rothesay Foundation and provides a free, confidential benefits support service for Iceland customers aged 66 and over.
The service is designed to make it easier to access financial support by offering hands-on, practical help, including checking what benefits customers may be entitled to, helping to complete application forms and supporting them through the claims process.
Delivered through a dedicated phone line, expert advisers from Kinly provide personalised, end-to-end support to help ensure customers successfully access the benefits they are entitled to. This type of support would normally come at a cost but is provided free of charge through the Foundation’s funding.
Many older people continue to miss out on support that could help with everyday costs. Previous findings show that for 80% of older people, the application process is the main barrier to claiming the benefits they are entitled to. This partnership is focused on removing that barrier and making support easier, more accessible and more straightforward to use.
Customers who have benefited from the Benefits Boost service so far have seen an average annual increase of around £5,000. More than 7,500 Iceland customers are expected to benefit from the campaign, unlocking over £37 million in additional support.
